Call for papers: Exhibiting Europe. The development of European narratives in museums, collections, and exhibitions

 

April 7-9 2011, Oslo, Interkulturelt Museum

Organised by the research project Exhibiting Europe.

This conference will bring together experts from all over Europe and explore the ongoing production of a European narrative and heritage in the museal field. Proposals on the following three topics will be considered:Centre and Periphery; Biographies; and Objects and Collections.

The proposals (around 300 words in a word or rtf document) should be submitted to all three members of the organising committee, together with the prospective paper-giver‘s CV, by October 15th 2010. More information

 

Call for papers: Current issues in European Cultural Studies: ACSIS Conference 2011
June15-17 2011, Norrköping, Sweden

Organised by the Advanced Cultural Studies Institute of Sweden (ACSIS)
in collaboration with the Association for Cultural Studies (ACS)

Cultural studies scholars from all over the world are invited to propose and organise group sessions that may deal with any empirical, methodological or theoretical subject within a wide definition of the cultural studies field. The conference is thus not restricted to Europe (as a region or a topic) but open to perspectives on other issues and from other parts of the world as well. The plenary sessions will deal with selected key current topics such as “Cosmopolitan Issues: Imagining Place and Community” and “Chronotopic Issues: Powers of Remembering and Narrating“.

If you wish to organise a session please send a 150-word description of your session to acsis-konferens@isak.liu.se.

The deadline for submission of proposals is November 1, 2010.
